From STLToday:

The suitors lined up near midfield as soon as the South team had broken its huddle to end Tuesday’s Senior Bowl practice.

Kansas City, New Orleans, New England and Baltimore all were setting up interviews for that night with Rey Maualuga, star linebacker from the University of Southern California.

“You can have me whenever you want,” Maualuga told one scout.

Perfect Fit ?

rosebowlillinoisvuscr5uhsolidxgl Perfect Fit ?

From Todd McShay:

USC’s Brian Cushing is the rare prospect who will fit in any defensive scheme in the NFL. He can play inside or outside in either a 3-4 or 4-3. Very few linebackers have that ability. Where he looked best, though, was over the tight end as a strongside linebacker in the 4-3. His body type, power and aggression lend well to doing battle with opposing tight ends. For a taller linebacker, he gets low and is not a leverage liability. He showed quick hips turning and running with the tight ends. The one area in which he didn’t look quite as comfortable was in his read-and-react skills while working in zone coverage. But overall, Cushing’s wide skill set drastically reduces his draft-bust factor. If anyone here is a great fit for New England, it’s Cushing.

A Collection Of NFL Mock Drafts

stock nfl draft A Collection Of NFL Mock Drafts

From WalterFootball.com:

24. New England Patriots: Clint Sintim, DE/OLB, Virginia
Bill Belichick added a young inside linebacker to his roster last April. He may look to upgrade the exterior this time around.

The Patriots struggled to put pressure on the quarterback at times (31 sacks) and Mike Vrabel, though still dependable, will be 34 in August. Something has to be done about this.

47. New England Patriots: Victor Harris, CB, Virginia Tech
The Patriots need help at corner, and Victor Harris is a steal if they can get him down here.

59. New England Patriots: C.J. Spiller, RB, Clemson
The Patriots need running back help; Laurence Maroney is always hurt, Kevin Faulk is nothing more than a fossil right now, while LaMont Jordan and Sammy Morris are pretty mediocre. C.J. Spiller, whose stock could explode at the Combine, could be a home-run threat at running back that New England really needs.

90. New England Patriots: Nic Harris, SS, Oklahoma
Nic Harris seems like the strong safety-linebacker tweener the Patriots love to have on their roster. With retirement knocking down Rodney Harrison’s door, the Patriots would love to add someone like Harris to their roster.

Fox Sports:

24. New England Patriots — William Moore, FS, Missouri

The Patriots secondary is a big concern moving forward, especially with the uncertain future of Rodney Harrison. Moore’s playmaking ability and hard-knocks style fit nicely in New England.

GBNReport:

24. Patriots- Jermaine Gresham TE Oklahoma

Perfect Fit For Patriots ?

timtebow 010308 300x183 Perfect Fit For Patriots ?

While discussing the NFL Draft options for the three Heisman finalists (Tim Tebow, Sam Bradford, and Colt McCoy) Chris Mortensen of ESPN said that league executives believe that due to his versatility, Tim Tebow is a perfect fit for the New England Patriots. There has been much debate over what type of quarterback Tebow would be in the NFL. Is he just a runner? Can he be an NFL quarterback? But who knows how the Patriots would play him. Maybe we could see a lot of  Wildcat formations coming from the Patriots. However, the Patriots just used a third-round pick on Kevin O’Connell last year, and with Tom Brady coming back, (who knows exactly when) they don’t exactly need to select a quarterback in round one. Although, the Patriots  could use Tebow in many different ways, perhaps playing him at the same time as Tom Brady could be an option. You’d think that defense maybe more of a concern for them. But one thing into the favor of Tebow to the Patriots, is the strong relationship that Bill Belichick and Urban Meyer have. All that being said, Tebow is still a junior and likely to return to the University of Florida.
