Wildcard Weekend – Sunday’s Picks

The Ravens are favored in Miami by 3.5 points and the O/U is 38. Both teams are hot, but the Ravens are starting a Rookie QB and are on the road. Even though the Ravens easily won in Miami in Week 7, we like the Dolphins getting 3.5 and the Under.
Dolphins 20 Ravens 16
Philadelphia is a 3.5 point road favorite against the Vikings, which is surprising because the Eagles didn’t play all that well down the stretch. The O/U is 41. The Vikings cannot even sell this one out and they have Tavaris Jackson starting at QB. Since everyone in the world is all over the Eagles, we like the Vikings and the Over in this one.

The Colts are favored in San Diego by 1 point and the O/U is 49.5. Both teams are hot, but the Chargers are banged up and have Norv Turner as their coach. Even though they are at home, we like the Colts giving 1 and the Under.
Colts 21 Chargers 16
Atlanta is a 1.5 point road favorite against the Cardinals, the way the two teams have been playing you would expect that. The O/U is 51. The Cardinals are tough at home and look to be healthy, the Falcons have a rookie QB on the road, so we like the Cardinals and the Over in this one.
Cardinals 38 Falcons 21

Our lock of the weekend: Alabama -10 over Utah. Look for Alabama to make a statement and run all over the Utes. Even without Top 3-pick Andre Smith playing in the game, the Tide won’t have a problem in this one. Utah can put up points, but when they have played against a good D this season, they have failed to do so. All you need to have seen was the TCU game, where Utah’s offense was anemic. Alabama, on the other-hand has played outstanding football against everyone this season, and their only loss was against Florida who is our lock of 2009 to beat Oklahoma. So, look for the unblemished record of Utah to come to an end tonight.

Red River Shoot Out
Texas vs. Oklahoma (-6.5)
I like Oklahoma. Oklahoma is bigger and faster than Texas. Oklahoma has knocked the opposing quarterback for at least one series in each of there games this year. That does not bode well for the often injured Colt McCoy. Also Oklahoma is more balanced than Texas offensively. Texas has no run game, their leading rusher is Colt McCoy the quarterback. That is not good considering that Texas does not run the option. That means his receivers are not getting open for him, and Texas has not played anybody good this year. Ya they are 5th in the country but I’mnot sold on them yet, no running game with a running back is gonna hurt them today.
I like Oklahom (-6.5)
Penn St.(-5) at Wisconsin
I like Penn St. Wisconsin is not that great of a team and lacks team speed to keep up with “High Def” offense that Penn St has. There is too much speed and too many athletes on Penn St. for Wisconsin to shut down. Plus Wisconsin loads up with cupcakes to begin the season every year and when they play a good team they lose, just like last week against Ohio St. It’s gonna be 3 straight Big Ten loses for the Badgers this week and the second loss at home.
I like Penn St. (-5)

Arizona at Washington (-3)
I like the Skins here, there offense showed some life against a terrible defense and Arizona’s defense is not much better. I also like the Redskins running game to go with an efficient passing game against an average defense. The Cardinals have a good offense but they can not run the ball they are 1 dimensional and the Redskins defense should be able to hold off the passing game, because the Edge won’t get anything going against that front 7.
Take the Redskins (-3)
Steelers at Eagles (-3)
I like the Eagles today there offense is explosive and McNabb is healthy. Reggie Brown is back today to go along with the rookie Desean Jackson who all he does is make big plays. Also Westbrook is an absolute stud there is no one on the Steelers defense that can match up with him out of the backfield. Look what the Eagles did against the Cowboys, they lit them up I see the Eagles putting up some points again in this one. Ben Roethlisberger has a bum shoulder and a shaky offensiveline. They also have not played against a good defense like the Eagles either. I see Big Ben throwing a couple of picks against the secondary.

Georgia (-7) at Arizona St.
I like Georgia today… They will get there offense back on track against a marginal team. ASU lost last week to UNLV, and only scored 20 points against there defense. The Bulldog defense is one of the best in the nation and it will stifle the ASU offense. Mathew Stafford and Knowshon Moreno will get back on track this week with AJ Green emerging as one of the best wideouts in the SEC. I like Georgia big in this one.
Take Georgia (-7)
LSU at Auburn (under 37)
Take the under guys this is gonna be a defensive battle, this is gonna be the a low scoring affair. Both teams have great defenses and not good offenses. Auburn and LSU have QBs to manage the game and not make any mistakes and let the defense win it for them.
Take the Under 37

Kansas at South Florida -3.5
I am going with Kansas on this one they are a good team with a great accurate quarterback in Todd Reesing. He runs the spread offense perfectly, Kansas spread is different from West Virginia spread that South Florida knows. Kansas spread is pass oriented more than the run happy West Virginia. Also they have great team speed on offense and defense, more so than South Florida. South Florida is a good team but I don’t think they have the speed on defense to shut down the spread. South Florida has a 6-0 record against non conference teams, but that could end tonight.
Kansas +3.5
