This Wouldn’t Of Happened If Bobby Knight Was Still There

The 2007, University of Indiana men’s basketball was suppose contend for the Big Ten title and be a viable team in the NCCA Tournament, last season. They started off good (17-1), led by freshmen sensation, Eric Gordon, who is currently on the LA Clippers. Poor kid. But, due to the Kelvin Sampson scandal last season, where he was alleged to have called recruits illegally, he was let go in February, and the turmoil for the team ensued. The belief was that because of the whole Sampson scandal the team flopped. Not so, according to Eric Gordon, who told the Indianapolis Star, that it was because of drug use among players on the team, in which it led to Gordon moving out of his campus dormitory. Doc Rivers must be so happy that his son chose to transfer to Indiana. More from the Indianapolis Star :
“It was the guys that were doing drugs that were separate,” Gordon told The Indianapolis Star. “Sometimes it felt like it wasn’t even a real basketball team because of all the turmoil that went on. I was just thinking about that the other day. It was so crazy that all that stuff threw off a good season and made it a waste, basically.
“It was really tough for us to be around each other all the time off the court because we were so separate.”
