Marbury Wavied By Knicks….Signing with Celtics?
February 24, 2009 by Mike

Stephon Marbury reached an agreement with the Knicks to have the rest of his contract purchased and will now be placed on waivers. Once he clears, the Boston Herald is reporting he will sign with the Celtics. Marbury, 32, hasn’t played since last season and will most likely need some time to get into game shape. He would most likely serve as the #2 point guard behind Rondo. This helps the Celtics sure up the back-up PG spot with some one who has averaged over 20ppg and 8apg in a single season. Also, Marbury should be very motivated to stick it to the Knicks and play for a new contract next season. The bad is he shoots 43% from the floor and just about 35% from the three point line, he has also been regarded as a selfish player who, “would rather look good and lose, than look bad and win.“
