A Collection Of NFL Mock Drafts

January 9, 2009 by Mike · Leave a Comment

stock nfl draft A Collection Of NFL Mock Drafts

From WalterFootball.com:

24. New England Patriots: Clint Sintim, DE/OLB, Virginia
Bill Belichick added a young inside linebacker to his roster last April. He may look to upgrade the exterior this time around.

The Patriots struggled to put pressure on the quarterback at times (31 sacks) and Mike Vrabel, though still dependable, will be 34 in August. Something has to be done about this.

47. New England Patriots: Victor Harris, CB, Virginia Tech
The Patriots need help at corner, and Victor Harris is a steal if they can get him down here.

59. New England Patriots: C.J. Spiller, RB, Clemson
The Patriots need running back help; Laurence Maroney is always hurt, Kevin Faulk is nothing more than a fossil right now, while LaMont Jordan and Sammy Morris are pretty mediocre. C.J. Spiller, whose stock could explode at the Combine, could be a home-run threat at running back that New England really needs.

90. New England Patriots: Nic Harris, SS, Oklahoma
Nic Harris seems like the strong safety-linebacker tweener the Patriots love to have on their roster. With retirement knocking down Rodney Harrison’s door, the Patriots would love to add someone like Harris to their roster.

Fox Sports:

24. New England Patriots — William Moore, FS, Missouri

The Patriots secondary is a big concern moving forward, especially with the uncertain future of Rodney Harrison. Moore’s playmaking ability and hard-knocks style fit nicely in New England.

GBNReport:

24. Patriots- Jermaine Gresham TE Oklahoma

ESPN:

24. Patriots- Brian Cushing OLB USC

Who Gets Fired First: Matt Millen Or Lane Kiffin ?

Who Gets Fired First: Matt Millen Or Lane Kiffin ?

It appears that anytime soon Oakland Raiders head coach Lane Kiffin will get the pink slip handed to him by Al Davis. Reports yesterday were a bit premature that Kiffin would be fired on Monday, but it can honestly happen any day now, and most likely today. Which wouldn’t be a surprise. The surprise that came out yesterday was from Detroit Lions vice chairman Bill Ford, who told ESPN that he would have fired Matt Millen if he had the authority. The fact that Matt Millen is still the GM is shocking. It’s said that Millen has a great relationship with team owner William Clay Ford. Which is certainly the only reason he still has a job. His record so far in Detroit is 31-84, that is 53 games under .500. Not to mention that Millen is also the second highest paid GM in the league. He’s made many blunders in his role as GM, such as drafting Joey Harrington and Mike Williams, also taking a wide receiver in the first round in the NFL Draft three years in a row. Quite simply the Matt Millen era in Detroit has been a disaster. There has even been a “Fire Matt Millen” movement in Detroit. It would be shocking to see him last the year, especially after the horrific start the team is off to again this year. It’s certainly more likely that Lane Kiffin will be fired first, but it’s clearly evident that Matt Millen is much more deserving of it. More from ESPN:

“I think the fans deserve better and if it were in my authority, which it’s not, I’d make some significant changes,” Ford said Monday.

Asked by a reporter if he believed Millen should leave the team, Ford said, “Yes, I do.”

The Ford Motor Co. executive chairman is the son of William Clay Ford, the franchise’s owner since 1964.

In rare interviews, the elder Ford has stood by his decision to hire Millen in 2001 and to stick with him since then. With Ford atop the franchise, the Lions have won only one playoff game and are an NFL-worst 31-84 since Millen took over in 2001.

The Beasley In The Room Rumors Continue To Swirl

The Beasley In The Room Rumors Continue To Swirl

This photo comes directly from The Big Lead, it is not known if it came from the NBA Rookies Program, which Mario Chalmers (seen in picture) and Darrell Arthur were both kicked out of. The Big Lead seems to think this picture was not taken at the rookies program, but somewhere else. In the picture notice the what looks like to be marijuana  in the right-hand of Chalmers, and the lighter on the table in from of Michael Beasley. Were they both hitting the trees harder than Sonny Bono ? The rumor is that Beasley locked himself in the bathroom and would not come out as people caught Chalmers and Arthur with both women and that as Tony Stewart would say “smoking pot grass”. This picture certainly adds more flame to the fire that the second pick in the NBA Draft was in the room.

      Thanks to The Big Lead

Was Beasley In The Room Too ?

Was Beasley In The Room Too ?

The other day it was reported that Mario Chalmers and Darrell Arthur were both sent home from the NBA’s Rookie Program, because they broke the rules of having women and their room’s and oh yeah having pot with them too. Now comes the rumor that Michael Beasley may have been in the room as well, but the new member of the Miami Heat locked himself in the bathroom and refused to open the door. Sounds like Beasley is transitioning to the NBA life pretty well. Before the NBA Draft there were questions about the maturity of the Kansas State star, but most observers felt those questions were squashed with his performance this past season. I’m think there just maybe a few more questions yet to be answered. One thing is for sure, he’s gonna love South Beach.

          Bill Self Must Be Proud

Bill Self Must Be Proud Bill Self Must Be Proud

Two former members of the University of Kansas Basketball team, Mario Chalmers and Darrell Arthur were both thrown out of the NBA’s Rookie Transition program for having marijuana and women in their rooms according to ESPN. Coming off a National Championship, each of the two were both expected to be high to mid-first round picks in the NBA Draft, and each of them slide, Arthur to #27 and Chalmers all the way into the second round. Maybe the NBA executives knew alittle bit more about these two then they Draft analysts did. Kansas coach Bill Self must love the example his two former players are setting in the NBA:

March Madness heroes Mario Chalmers and Darrell Arthur were thrown out of the NBA’s rookie transition program on Wednesday morning after being caught in their hotel room with marijuana and women, according to several sources.

“The players were sent home for violating program rules,” NBA spokesman Tim Frank said. “They will be appropriately sanctioned and will have to repeat the program next year.”

Sources said Chalmers and Arthur, who starred on the Kansas Jayhawks’ 2008 NCAA championship team, were also fined $20,000 apiece and could start the regular season on the suspended list. But NBA spokesman Brian McIntyre would not confirm that.

Ok, Method Man is clearly on drugs so we understand him taking Frank Gore at #3, for all he knows its still 2007. But, for everyone else and “experts” at ESPN they have no excuse. I think Dexter Manley could draft a better team, heck John Manley could too! Too see the list of all their teams click here.
