Troy Brown Officially Retires
September 25, 2008 by Mike
Perhaps the most accomplished receiver in New England Patriots history officially retired today. Patriots great, Troy Brown called it quits this morning after 15 seasons in the NFL, and retires with the most receptions in the Patriots history with 557 and three Super Bowl rings. There was talk that #80 still wanted to play a bit longer, but when givenĀ a chance to play with the hated New York Jets this season Brown told theĀ media (via Boston Globe):
“I had the opportunity to do it, but it didn’t feel right,” he said of the chance to sign with the Jets, saying he didn’t like the look of green and white.
A quote that coach Bill Belichick sure loved to hear.
