The Reason I’ll Root For The Phillies If The Red Sox Lose
October 17, 2008 by Mike
First off, let me state that I still expect the Red Sox to prevail in the series and then go one to smash the Philadelphia Phillies in the World Series. But, like Kevin Garnett said “Anything is Possible!!!!” and I don’t want to mush the Red Sox. The traditional thing to do is root for the team that beats you in hopes they win the World Series, and it makes your team look better. But, I can’t root for a team with Jonny Gomes on it, and I don’t want to see that cheap-shot artist Carl Crawford with a ring on his finger. Nor do I think the Rays have a chance of beating the Red Sox after last night’s debacle, but the reason I am rooting for the Phillies is because I HATE Philadelphia. I must say I like the Phillies, especially after this classy incident last year in which they helped out the Coors Field ground crew. But, I cannot stand the people of Philadelphia, and if the Phillies somehow win the World Series, those idiots in Philly will burn the whole frigging city to the ground. The city of Philadelphia hasn’t had a winner since 1983, that was the Sixers, and whoever wins it next is going to cause a major uproar in the city. Honestly, how can anybody like fans from Philadelphia ? They make the fans from Boston and New York look classy. I’d also love to see the Phillies gets swept by the Sox, and watch the fans in Philly scream and complain. That would be beautiful. However, if by some miraculous way the Rays beat the Red Sox, yours truly is rooting for Phillies. Only because of the destruction and end to the city of Philadelphia as we know it.
