Defense Doesn’t Run In The Family

The defensive system that made Bob Knight so famous at Army, Indiana, and Texas Tech, apparently doesn’t run in the family. Knight’s son, Pat, who took over the team last season for his father set the Texas Tech school record for points last night with a 167-115 victory over East Central. They weren’t exactly playing North Carolina. The combined 283 points was also a school record, something that certainly wouldn’t be seen under the Bob Knight era. Daddy Knight certainly can’t be happy with the lack of defensive play under his son. Defense was Knight’s M.O., and in a tough Big 12, if Texas Tech is giving up 115 points to East Central, god knows what the score will be when they play Oklahoma or Texas.
