B-Diddy Was Not A Math Major

Ok, I get the fact that Baron Davis wants to win a championship, and that he wants to play with his buddy Elton Brand, who also opted out of his contract. But, Baron walked away from one year at 17.8 Million Dollars to sign with the LA Clippers for 5-years at 65 Million Dollars. Am I the only person that thinks this makes no sense ? Baron, could have easily played out the year with the Golden State Warriors and signed the same exact contract next year. If anything he is signing a below market deal. If Gilbert Arenas is being offered 127 Million Dollars for 6 years, thenĀ B-Diddy is worth a bit more than 65 Million. He is basically costing himself at least 17.8 Million Dollars. I guess the UCLA education isn’t what it used to be. Also, its no guarantee that Elton Brand is definitely going to resign in LA. He could easily sign a big deal in Philly or Miami. I guess it’s not the worst day, if you’re getting 13 Million a year, and get to play in front of celebrities like this.

All NBA contracts are guaranteed. He could get injured this year (which has happened to him in the past) and make $0 after this year if it’s a career-ender. $17.8 plus $0, vs. $65 million. you do the math, genius.
